System Settings
Configure and manage global application settings for your DocAssure environment
Introduction to System Settings
The System Settings section in DocAssure provides administrators with centralized control over global configuration options that affect the entire application. These settings determine how DocAssure operates, from performance parameters to security policies.
Note: System Settings are only accessible to users with administrative privileges. If you don't see the System Settings option, contact your system administrator.

Best Practices
Plan Before Changing
Before modifying system settings, especially security or storage settings, create a plan that outlines what changes will be made and how they might affect users. Consider testing changes in a non-production environment first.
Regular Backups
Before making significant changes to system settings, back up your current configuration. Most settings can be exported as a configuration file, which can be restored if needed.
Review Security Settings Regularly
Security best practices evolve over time. Schedule regular reviews of your security settings to ensure they align with current industry standards and your organization's security policies.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
- Settings not taking effect: Some settings require a system restart or cache clear. Try restarting the application service or clearing browser cache.
- Access denied errors: Verify that your account has the necessary administrative privileges. Certain settings may require higher-level permissions.
- Configuration conflicts: Some settings may conflict with others. Check for related settings that might be causing inconsistencies.
Restoring Default Settings
If you need to revert to the original settings:
- Navigate to the System Settings page
- Look for the "Restore Defaults" option (usually at the bottom of each section)
- Select whether to restore all settings or just a specific category
- Confirm the action when prompted
